Crutch Cozies

Hey Guys!

So a few months ago I was on crutches and they were really bothering my underarms and hands. Anyone who has been in crutches knows what I am talking... anyway I started to surf the internet for knit or crochet pattern for crutch cozies, and they were no where to be found! I looked for weeks and couldn't find any. So I decided to come up with my own pattern, and I thought I would share it with all since I am yet again on crutches for possibly tearing the ACL in my knee :/.

Things you'll need.

1 skein of bulky weight yarn (I used lion brand baby first. its what i found around)
size 10 needles
tapestry needle to sew up the sides

Underarm Pad (make 2):

First thing you want to do is cast on 24 stitches leaving a long tail to sew up the sides later

Now you want to K2,P2 for rows 1-8.

Now work in stockinette stitch for new 9-20.

For rows 21-28 work in K2,2 then bind off leaving a long tail to sew up the other side.

The picture above is what it should like before you fold in half and sew up the sides.

Now to knit the hand pad

Hand pads (make 2):

Cast on 14 stitches

Work in stockinette stitch for 28 rows then bind off leaving a long tail to sew up the side.

The picture is what your piece should look like before folded and sew up.

All that is left is to sew up the sides and place on crutches and you are good to go. I'm sorry I don't have pictures of it being sewn up :(.

But here is what they look like when they are on the crutches.

They are super easy to make right? Well if you don't want to make them, they'll be in my Etsy site (http://www.etsy.com/shop/KnitsByMichelleA).

Thanks for knitting with me :)

All About me!

Hi everyone!

My name is Michelle and I'm new to blogging so please give me a little time to get to get use to it lol. I made this blog to show off the projects I made and maybe create new projects for some of you. I have recently started to sell of my knitting projects on Etsy. I do take orders and I can make anything and in any color you want. Please if you want something made just ask, my prices are reasonable.  I have been knitting for about 6 years and crocheting for about 5 months. I love them both, they are very relaxing and it makes me feel good know that I am making something for someone to enjoy. I know many techniques for knitting and still learning new one all the time.  Once I have finished a new project I will post pictures so everyone can see my new creation. I will most likely try and blog something everything thursday and if the project isn't done yet I'll just let everyone know how things are going.  I hope you all enjoy my creation just as much as I enjoy making them :).
